There is a certain relaxed approach to most things around the house, which is exactly what he suspects happens when away…more to the point I imagine he believes everything falls apart. Not true. Just becomes a little looser in her stays, I’d say.
Anyway, I have all these good intentions but because I’m getting to bed later – there is still that need to stay up a bit just by myself for some down time before actually going to be, a left over from when the girls were small and any television had to come with a button front cardigan sweater or flannel puppet. I’d have to wait till after 8:00 when they were finally abed to turn the tube to something a little rougher, like Frasier…or the movies I’d got from the library or Blockbuster. I’d rent movies a lot in those days because I had missed so many when they were in the theatres and most of them weren’t ones anyone would consider appropriate for small children. Even though I tend to think kids should be exposed to good literature and theatre and movies rather than whatever has been watered down to some mental pablum lest they hear a bad word or see a nipple.
There, see, I’ve gone off on some other thread. I slept in until almost 9:00 this morning. I’d set the alarm for 8:00, woke up at 7:00 and snoozed till 8:50….now I’m still all groggy and sucking back some tea in a desperate attempt to put a bit of direction into my day. On the other hand, why be in a hurry to do more laundry and straighten everything up when it will just be back to a mess after the girls have been up for a few hours.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
This is the second weekend in a row with Mark out of town.
