Spring<\/span>. \u00a0It&#8217;s here, finally. \u00a0The Japanese plum trees are in bloom, the birds outside are busy building nests, <a href=\"http:\/\/suddenalarm.blaseckie.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/P1000138.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright  wp-image-3080\" title=\"across the street\" src=\"http:\/\/suddenalarm.blaseckie.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/P1000138-300x232.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"240\" height=\"186\" srcset=\"http:\/\/suddenalarm.blaseckie.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/P1000138-300x232.jpg 300w, http:\/\/suddenalarm.blaseckie.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/P1000138.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 240px) 100vw, 240px\" \/><\/a>perching on wires, chirping while they work. Our cockatiel, Bob, is chirping along, to say hello to them and to draw my attention to a cage much in need of cleaning. Well, he really isn&#8217;t so fastitidous himself, \u00a0it&#8217;s just that a clean cage means a full food dish and fresh water. Plus, maybe a treat. He doesn&#8217;t care about the seasons except that maybe there&#8217;s more daylight and more action outside his window.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #33cccc;\">2. Walking<\/span>. \u00a0I live in a place in the world where I can walk because I want to get a little air, a little sunshine, a little exercise for my fat ass and bored little dog. I don&#8217;t have to walk 2 miles each day in unrelenting sun to get clean water. Or to gather dried animal dung to burn to boil the water.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #33cccc;\">3. The man outside church this morning<\/span>. \u00a0He had his hat out but I didn&#8217;t have any change for him. I nodded at him anyway, so he wouldn&#8217;t think I was ignoring him. He smiled back and said, &#8220;wow, I like what you got going on with your hair&#8230;that&#8217;s wild.&#8221; \u00a0At my age I&#8217;ll take flattery about my looks where I can get them.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #33cccc;\">4. My laptop.<\/span> The letter h doesn&#8217;t always work wen I first hit it but that just keeps me on my toes going back to make sure it&#8217;s <del>tere <\/del>\u00a0<del>thhhhhere <\/del>present.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #33cccc;\">5. Towels.<\/span> There never seem to be any in the closet to put out and I know I only have a few in the laundry but is there anything in the world that feels as good as a fresh, clean towel right out of the dryer? \u00a0Yeah, okay, there are lots of things that feel pretty great&#8230;but you gotta admit a fluffy warm towel is up there on that list.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_3082\" style=\"width: 193px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/suddenalarm.blaseckie.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/typing-chart.jpeg\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3082\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-3082 \" title=\"typing chart\" src=\"http:\/\/suddenalarm.blaseckie.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/typing-chart.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"183\" height=\"135\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-3082\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">old on, wat&#39;s missing ere?<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>1.
