Monday Monday, Can’t trust that day…

Ha, now you’ll be humming The Mamas and The Papas all day. There are worse ear worms. I’m still contemplating revenge on Roger Ebert for his final comment in reviewing the latest Pirates of the Caribbean movie: “The whole series was inspired by a ride at Disneyland. There’s a bright side to that. At least no movie has yet been inspired by “It’s a Small World.”  I read that last Friday morning…it took till Saturday night to stop the dolls singing in my head…hmmm, maybe I shouldn’t be admitting to that in public.

Anyway, on to the Monday questions and now it’s only 4…but first the icon

And now the questions:

1.  What is was the last piece of candy that you ate?
2.  Do you “read” in the bathroom?
3.  I can’t stand when someone _________?
4.  Do you do daily, weekly or monthly grocery shopping?

And finally, the part we’ve all been waiting for…cue the crickets…

1.  What is was the last piece of candy that you ate?.Last? What do you mean last?…I’m currently munching on a jelly bean and, while I know it’s not considered proper to admit this, I fully plan on continuing to eat candy for many, many, many years to come.

2.  Do you “read” in the bathroom? Let’s face it, Steve Jobs -ironic choice of names considering this topic — has a lot to answer for in developing Ipods, Iphones and Ipads. He has changed the way people go to the bathroom…let me rephrase that: while the mechanics haven’t changed, peripheral bathroom activities, thanks to Steve Jobs, have definitely altered over the last 10 years. At the very least smart devices have given Reader’s Digest a run for the money in the reading room department. But, yes, I still read, occasionally, when I am in the bathroom but I draw the line at texting.

3.  I can’t stand when someone ___? ….is sitting on my lap….?

4.  Do you do daily, weekly or monthly grocery shopping?

Sunday street market in Paris

I would say I do shopping whenever the need arises and, if it is also on a payday, I’ll do more of a monthly shop to lay in the major supplies like sugar, flour and toilet paper. There really isn’t any other way to dolly up an answer to this question. I guess I could lie and say, “I don’t do grocery shopping, that’s why the cook has a scullery maid…”

You may now return to your regular Monday drudgery or go to Java’s Never Growing Old blog to see who else is hopping today.
