Political rantings – neo-cons in Canada

Keep reading in the letters to the editor of the local newspaper how the current Liberal party is responsible for every problem the country faces including moral decay and psoriasis. The current leader of the opposition goes on about how the Liberals have done nothing but line their own pockets but when the government tries to settle down to do some work in the house, the opposition makes it quite clear it will use its swing power to bring the house down. Can’t win.
The honourable leader of the opposition appears young and likeable but, like the folksy young fella leading the country to my immediate south, he is actually backed by a very strong neo-conservative group of power brokers. These folk appear to think Bush has the right idea but is just too soft on liberal issues.
I am from Alberta originally and know just how far to the right politics can get there and the current power structure supporting the conservative party here is definitely from the extreme end of the spectrum.
I hope most of the voters take a moment to ask themselves why the premier of Alberta is suddenly becoming so vocal, saying the liberals won’t be able to blame him for the dismantling of the health care system here…the liberals haven’t said a thing about it…in the words of Hamlet, methinks the lady/premier doth protest too much.

Anyway, it is early on a Sunday morning, my youngest had a sleep-over last night for her birthday and I am just a bit hung over from all the junk food. Yeah, I know, it’s supposed to be for the kids but I’m only human, eh? She has asked for beignets for breakfast, which means a fairly big production effort on my part. Made the dough last night and now have to clear off the table so the chilluns have a place to sit while covering themselves in grease and icing sugar. I will reserve the cafe au lait for myself…okay, a decaf latte.
