Away for a week and nuthins changed

spent a week in Oregon. It’s a like a different country…okay, it is a different country. Everyone drives honkin big cars…hummers and lots of SUV’s. Every second car is a 4X4 or bigger and absolutely, positively no smart cars to be seen anywhere. Gas is relatively cheap compared to here, everyone there complains about how expensive it is and they all drive bronto-cars…
Anyway, come back here and there is nothing new, really. Read the op-ed section of the T-C and the usual cranks are complaining about the CBC. It is a commie conspiracy, you see, a tax supported liberal party publicity machine and no-one listens to it anyway. Not like the fair and unbiased reporting of, say, the american FOX channels…or ABC which is owned by Disney Corp…Ah, dear.
Sunny day, warm but the kiss of autumn is in the air – just a little coolness taking the edge off the heat of the day. I’ll miss the heat but I love the crisp cool days of fall too. If only the coast had a decent fall rather than a slow dissolve into rain. One day everything is grey and the trees have lost their leaves without turning all sorts of colours first to signal the change.
