Not as exciting as it sounds…or maybe it is. Anyway, these implants are in my eyes and for the first time in, ummm, 43 years, I can see without glasses. Not only that, I can see things I never could before because the glasses never seemed to get that good a correction.
It’s amazing. I’m seeing a lot of things that I’ve been missing – even mundane things like a small sign painted on the railway switch box near work. I never even knew it was there and now I can read it clearly from 10 metres away.
I watched sparrows hopping around in the dense gorse bush that lines most of the west bay walk way. I could always hear them but I never knew it was possible to actually see the brown birds in the middle of the dense brown branches…
Pretty neat.
I need reading glasses now but, heck, I can live with that. Supposedly I will eventually adapt with these lenses to a point where I may not even need reading glasses…
These implants are way more fun than the other ones most people think of.
