Just cruised the blogs and came across an interesting one – neocon express. This guy is exactly what the title would suggest and rabidly so. Now, it isn’t interesting to me that these sorts of people exist, we are all entitles to our opinions and I most certainly have heard this sort of neocon excess dribbled out before. Actually, I am a big fan of P.J.O’Rourke, who is a conservative but, hard to believe, with a sense of humour – I mean an actual sense of humour. He is entertaining to read and quite intelligent in his commentary.
But back to this other chap. He falls into the majority category who think saying something to the effect of pinko dems wearing ballet shoes to the gay bar is bordering on the heights of satire. You know, someone who really plumbs the depths of any particular subject and comes up with everything that can be possibly said on one side of the issue. The definition of debate here is the straw man school, argument ad hominum ad nauseum.
Anyway, the interesting thing about this particular blog is that there is no place for comments on his posts. Lots of links to other stark raving loonies and the odd conservative who might even make sense but no area for comments on what is posted in the blog. I often wonder about someone who enjoys whipping up a good lather over an absent opponent but don’t provide a space for even a belated response.
